I am clearly way too addicted to gaming and cooking. I have been playing the open beta of RF-Online for over 2 weeks and alternating between that, Lineage 2 eXtreme, NFS:MW, xbox 360 arcade games, and tweeking recipes.
Speaking of recipes...
Pop-overs. Are. Annoying. There are a bazillion ways to make these and -everybody- has an opinion. Alton Brown's blender method has many many points going for it but I found that his use of water and milk do not seem to work for me. I made a batch two weeks ago according to AB's recipe and the pop-overs didn't pop so I went back to using milk only as the major liquid ingredient.
The last batch I made didn't pop properly and I think it is because I didn't let the batter rest (too many bubbles). The batch before that came out nearly perfect, so I'm going to try it again very soon and see if it produces consistent results (same recipe but I let that one rest for an hour).
FYI: I am using silicon muffin pans - I've still haven't found metal pop-over pans that do NOT suck (and yes, I know what to look for). The pans I'm using do work. They are narrow and deep as opposed to wide and shallow.
I REALLY need to update my recipe site... @_@
